Food Complaints
The Environmental Health Department investigates complaints from consumers relating to such matters as alleged illness from eating food, or the discovery of foreign matter (metal, glass, insects etc) in food. The purpose of any investigation is to try and establish how the particular incident occured and to ensure that the necessary steps are taken to prevent such a recurrence. Approximately forty such complaints are dealt with by the Department on an annual basis.
