Looking for information about a council service?
Your rates bill has two parts – the regional rate and the district rate. The regional rate is struck by Central Government and Strabane District Council sets the district rate.
The regional rate provides education, housing, health and roads. Following large increases in the regional rate over recent years, central government has decided not to increase the domestic or non-domestic regional rate for 2009/2010.
Strabane District Council struck the district rate for 2009/2010 on 10 February 2009. The new domestic district rate is £3.3614 per thousand capital value, an increase of 7.48%. The new non-domestic district rate is 22.8741p in the pound, an increase of 7.48%.
